How to get free wifi at Starbucks
As a freelancer I go to coffee shops quite a bit and other businesses with wifi. I typically only go to places with free wifi and there are quite a few of those nowadays.
One place that would be nice to go to but partners with AT&T for wifi is Starbucks. There is a way around this though which is pretty simple to do.
- Purchase a Starbucks gift card(minimum is $5) - the amount on the card has nothing to do with how much free wifi you get
- Get on your computer and join the related network, probably “attwifi” or something similar
- Try loading a page such a google.com
- Now you should be on an ATT landing page, click the link that mentions “Sign up for free wifi at Starbucks”
- Select the option on the left or the one that refers to a “Starbucks card”
- Go through the setup steps and now you have free wifi
I’m not sure how long your wifi lasts or when it is supposed to run out. I’ve used it for around 6-7 hours the past two days and mine is still going strong.
